The National Disaster Management Committee of Cambodia stated that 19 provinces and cities across the country were hit by floods, including Phnom Penh, Bodhisattva, Pailing, Banteay Meanchey, Preah Vihear, Battambang, Sihanoukville and other places.

  According to statistics from the National Disaster Management Committee of Cambodia, floods have caused 312,000 people to be affected, 37,000 people were evacuated, and the death toll rose to 25.

More than 73,000 houses, 568 schools, and 213,000 hectares of rice fields were flooded or damaged.

  In the face of the disaster, the Cambodian official level has dispatched rescue teams including armed forces to carry out disaster relief and disaster relief work to help people threatened by floods evacuate urgently and reduce the loss of life and property caused by floods.

At present, some areas in northern and northwestern Cambodia are still severely affected.

  According to the prediction of the Cambodian Meteorological Department, the rainfall in the northwestern part of Cambodia and the northeastern plateau area will continue until the 21st. The rainfall in the seaside area is relatively high, and continuous rainfall will put pressure on the government's rescue work.

  Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen stated that in the disaster relief work, the first thing to do is to arrange a safe place for the affected people. Second, when the water subsides, the government is obliged to help the affected people return to their homes and provide them with enough food to protect their property .

He also reminded that people affected by disasters who moved to safe areas should continue to strictly implement epidemic prevention measures, maintain safe social distance, and prevent the spread of new coronary pneumonia.

  At present, people from all walks of life in Cambodia have donated more than 7 million US dollars to the government for flood prevention and disaster relief.

Hun Sen thanked the enthusiastic people for their donations and expressed the hope that the people of the whole country will carry forward the spirit of mutual help when encountering difficulties.
