On Monday, Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, using a rope, went down into an archaeological well, accompanied by the Minister of Antiquities, Khaled Al-Anani, to inspect coffins that were found.

During Madbouly's inspection of the completion of the excavations of the Egyptian archaeological mission operating in the Saqqara antiquities area, a large number of colored and closed human coffins for more than 2,500 years were found, in addition to colored and gilded wooden statues.

Al-Anani pointed out that these discoveries were made by pure Egyptian hands, in addition to the unprecedented achievement of many archaeological projects and openings, as 5 museums will be opened before the end of 2020.

This discovery will be announced during the next few weeks at a press conference in the Saqqara Antiquities Zone, after the completion of the archaeological documentation and photography works.

The Prime Minister made a video clip while he was inside the well, in which he thanked the Ministry and his pride in the unique Egyptian civilization which he cares personally.

It is noteworthy that the Egyptian archaeological mission revealed during the past years a number of important archaeological discoveries in this region, the last of which was the discovery of 59 colored human coffins with mummies in good preservation for senior statesmen and priests from the 26th family, which was announced at an early international press conference This October.
