Covid-19: Ireland, the first EU country to reconfigure its population

Ireland will be almost completely reconfigured from Wednesday evening October 22.
To cope with the explosion of contaminations in the country and to protect an underfunded hospital system, the Irish Prime Minister announced the return to a similar situation last spring.

Main difference with the confinement of last March: schools remain open.

The future of our children will not be yet another victim of this virus
", justified Prime Minister Micheal Martin by announcing the containment.
Another novelty, compared to March: the concept of “social bubble”.
Individuals who are isolated will have the right to “associate” with another household to receive visits.
The Prime Minister also pledged that the government would invest in psychological support services.

Recommended by the scientific council for ten days, this national reconfinement comes into force Wednesday at midnight, for 6 weeks.
Alongside the other flagship rules of the first wave, closure of non-essential businesses, limitation of travel within a radius of 5 km, teleworking for all.
