It is the neighbor who made the sordid discovery Sunday in the middle of the afternoon, in Bertrichamps, near Baccarat (Meurthe-et-Moselle).

A one-and-a-half-year-old dwarf goat, named Perline, was lying near a door of his house, reports

Mutilated, the animal had both ears cut off and presented wounds to the hind legs but also to the neck, as well as a fractured skull.

Alerted, the owner rushed the small animal to the vet.

"The latter confirmed that she could not have these injuries on her own" explains the owner to our colleagues.

The day before, the neighbor had already discovered it trembling in his garden.

A member of the owner's family then put it back in its protected enclosure.

Baccarat gendarmes dispatched a criminal identification team from Nancy.
