"Game of thrones" tops the French favorite series over the past 30 years, ahead of the Spanish "La casa de papel" and the French "Un Guy, une Fille", according to an Ipsos-Sopra Steria poll for Télécâble Sat Hebdo unveiled Sunday.

As part of this study, commissioned for the magazine's 30th anniversary, just over 1,000 people were submitted to three lists of fifteen series each, launched in the 1990s, 2000s and 2010s.

They initially chose their three favorite series for each decade, before being invited to quote, among the nine fictions thus selected, their three "favorites of the last 30 years".

Result, "Game of thrones", the saga of the cable channel HBO, global success whose finale caused controversy last year, was retained by 15.1% of respondents.

In 2nd place comes "La casa de papel" (13.3%), the most watched non-English series on Netflix, centered on a gang of robbers, ahead of "A guy, a girl" (12.6%), the format short which revealed to the general public Jean Dujardin and Alexandra Lamy in 1999 on France 2.

At the foot of the podium, appear the American "Desperate housewives" (12.5%) and "Grey's anatomy" (12.3%), followed by the French "Kaamelott" (12.2%) and the iconic "Friends" (11.4%).

Series revered by critics, such as "Breaking bad" (3.5%), "The Sopranos" (1.1%) or "On listening (The Wire)" (0.6%) respectively only arrive 26th, 40th and 44th position out of 45.

Another lesson, the prize list differs according to the age or the sex of the respondents: among men, it is "X-Files" (16.8%), the fantastic series of the 1990s, which dominates the ranking, against the series. medical "Grey's anatomy" (19.5%) in women.

Those under 30 prefer "La casa de papel" (29.8%), "Game of thrones" (18%) remaining the most cited among 30-60 year olds.

Finally, the over 60s are distinguished by an entirely tricolor podium, the France 3 series "Capitaine Marleau" (26.6%) winning first place, ahead of "Julie Lescaut" (15.5%) broadcast on TF1 from 1992 to 2014, and "A guy, a girl" (15.1%).

Survey conducted online from September 11 to 14 with a sample of 1,081 people, representative of the French population aged 16 and over, according to the quota method.
