South Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs: "Deeply regret" the Japanese government's sacrifice to the Yasukuni Shrine

  China News Service, Seoul, October 17 (Reporter Zeng Nai) The South Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that it "deeply regretted" that Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga and others offered sacrifices to the Yasukuni Shrine.

  The 17th is the first day of the Yasukuni Shrine's autumn festival.

Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, and some cabinet ministers offered sacrifices to the Yasukuni Shrine.

  In response, the South Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a public statement stating that the Yasukuni Shrine beautified Japan’s previous war of aggression and worshipped war criminals. It deeply regrets that the Japanese government and the Speaker of the House of Representatives once again offered sacrifices to the Yasukuni Shrine.

  The South Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the South Korean government urged the Japanese side to take the establishment of a new cabinet as an opportunity, face up to history, and develop future-oriented relations between the two countries through humbly introspection and genuine reflection.
