According to final partial results, the outgoing Prime Minister of New Zealand won a landslide victory on Saturday, October 17, even offering herself an absolute majority in Parliament.

”.

It was with these words on television that New Zealand opposition leader Judith Collins of the National Party officially recognized the victory of Labor Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern in the general election on Saturday evening.

After two-thirds of the votes were counted, the Prime Minister was on the way to winning 64 of the 120 seats in Parliament.

In power since 2017, Jacinda Ardern, just forty, had focused in her campaign on her very solid record in the

fight against the Covid-19 pandemic
