  According to reports, the case occurred at around 5 pm local time on the 16th, and the incident occurred in the town of Conflans-Saint-Honolina in the Saint-Germain-en-Laye district of Yvelines, on the outskirts of Paris.

The police informed that the suspect had been killed.

  According to reports from France’s BFM television station and the “Parisian”, the deceased was a local history teacher. It was said that controversial religious issues were involved in the lectures, which caused a great response in the local area.

  The Associated Press reported that a police officer revealed that about 10 days ago, the deceased had started a "debate" and then received threats.

Another police officer said that the parent of a student filed a complaint against the teacher, but added that the murder suspect did not have children in the school.

Russian satellite network quoted French media as saying that the deceased had reported to the police because of threats from the parents of the students.

  The police said that an ID card was found at the scene and they are verifying their identity.

At present, it is not clear whether the homicide suspect had any contact with the deceased, nor whether there were any associates.

The police are searching the suspect’s residence and possible family and friends.

  French officials have launched an anti-terrorism investigation.

The office of French anti-terrorism prosecutor Jean-Francois Ricard said that four people had been detained hours after the murder, one of whom was a minor, but did not elaborate.

  French President Macron rushed to the school where the killed teacher worked to check the situation and met with the staff.

Macron said the attack should not divide France, "As citizens, we must stand together."

  The current anti-terrorism situation in France is grim, and Interior Minister Darmanin has asked the Paris police to strengthen security.
