Dubai Municipality launches a "Makani" board to address the smartest units in the world

In order to achieve the implementation of the initiative to transform Dubai into a smart city, Dubai Municipality launched, on Thursday, the "Makani" smart system for addressing geospatial units, which was prepared by the municipality to be the first of its kind in the world, in the presence of the director of the GIS Center in the municipality, Eng. Maryam Al Muhairi.

The system is an extension of the existing Makani entrances system, where the new addressing system has been developed to include all types of units within the buildings, whether they are residential, shops, offices, etc., and the engineering data for the buildings have been prepared according to three-dimensional standards in line with the “Geodeby” initiatives and the requirements of “Twin Digital "for the emirate and its inclusion in the geographical database, setting a distinctive code for all units, and then installing Makani panels for the units, preparing mobility data within the buildings, in addition to updating the Makani system currently used by the public to include units and displays directions and directions for movement within the buildings."

Al-Muhairi stated that the new unit addressing system is considered one of the forward-looking systems for the future, as it will be used in all private government services to access unit sites in emergency-related services, statistical data and delivery services. It is expected that in the future, wide uses of drones and autonomous vehicles in government and commercial services are expected And tourism, which requires accurate addressing systems at the level of unit details within the buildings and with high-precision 3D databases, and this will be provided through this integrated modern addressing initiative.
