JDA Dijon basketball players won their third success in as many games and join Boulogne-Levallois and Bourg-en-Bresse at the top of the French Championship, while Nanterre has another victory and Boulazac has finally played his first match, Saturday night.

The start of the 2020/21 season of Elite is strongly disrupted by the health crisis and the Covid-19 pandemic.

The fifth day was thus marked by the postponement of three meetings (Le Mans - Boulogne-Levallois, Limoges - Bourg-en-Bresse, and Villeurbanne - Gravelines).

In this championship turned upside down by postponements (none of the five days has yet been played in its entirety), Dijon made the good move Saturday night, by winning on his floor against Pau-Orthez (87-71) , thanks to 18 points from strong Belgian winger Hans Vanwijn and 19 points from American winger Chase Simon.

JDA joined Metropolitans 92 and JL Bourg at the top of the standings with three wins and no losses on the clock.

For Elan Béarnais, it was the first league match since the discovery of a source of Covid-19 contamination within the workforce.

On September 28, the championship match against Le Mans was postponed until the last moment and on October 5, the club announced that its entire professional group had tested positive for the new coronavirus.

Behind the top trio, Nanterre also has a third success after his home victory against Strasbourg (89-80) on Saturday afternoon.

Pascal Donnadieu's players come on perfectly after their defeat at the opening of the season in mid-September against Bourg and have the same record as Limoges (three wins and one setback).

They will pass a real test against Asvel next Sunday, provided that the Villeurbanne can play, while the Rhone workforce is currently placed in solitary confinement due to several cases of Covid-19.

Boulazac, affected by the Covid-19 and who had not been able to play his first four matches, was finally able to start his season, a month after the start of the Elite.

The Dordognais bowed over 71 to 70 at home against Le Portel.

Only three teams have played all their matches since the start of the season: Strasbourg (two wins), Cholet and Elan Chalon (one success).
