“I also invited Turkey to join our Crimean Platform project, which is a tool for consolidating international partners to protect the rights of Crimeans and de-occupy the Ukrainian peninsula,” he said during a joint briefing with Erdogan.

Zelensky expressed gratitude to the Turkish leader "for his readiness to support this project and take an active part in it."

Earlier in Kiev, it was stated that Zelensky, during a working visit to Turkey on October 16, plans to hold a meeting with Erdogan.

Erdogan, following talks with Zelensky on October 16, said that Turkey does not and will never recognize the "annexation" of Crimea.

Crimea became a Russian region after a March 2014 referendum, in which most residents voted for reunification with Russia.
