"The US Department of Energy's National Nuclear Security Administration and Atomic Energy of Canada Limited today signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation and information exchange in the areas of nuclear safety, safeguards and non-proliferation," the statement said.

It is specified that the agreement is designed for five years and involves joint exchange of information, as well as cooperation in research and development.

The American Agency for International Development (USAID) plans to carry out a number of measures to ensure the energy security of the countries of Eastern Europe.
