Sarkozy indicted in the case of alleged Libyan financing

The former head of state Nicolas Sarkozy was indicted Monday after four days of hearing for "criminal association" in the investigation into suspicions of Libyan financing of his presidential campaign in 2007, a confirmed Friday the National Financial Prosecutor's Office, after information from Mediapart.

This new prosecution, revealed by the online news site, is the fourth in this case for the former President of the Republic, who said he was the victim of a "conspiracy" after the indictments pronounced in March 2018 for “passive corruption”, “concealment of embezzlement of public funds” and “illegal campaign financing”.
