Thousands of people are participating and have already gathered in the Jinnah Stadium in the fifth largest city in the country.

Yet containers and trucks block the entrances to the town of Gujranwala.

But that does not prevent the demonstrators from reaching the rally point of the demonstration.

Some have driven several hours to participate.

"

 Respect our votes

"

This is the first gathering of the PDM, the Pakistani Democratic Movement, an alliance of 11 parties opposed to the Pakistan Justice Movement, the party of Prime Minister Imran Khan.

For them, the Prime Minister was chosen and was not elected.

"

 Respect our votes,

" chant the demonstrators in the processions.

The opposition accuses Imran Khan of coming to power through fraud, supported by the establishment, that is, the powerful Pakistani army.

This massive mobilization comes two years after the coming to power of Imran Khan.

"

We wanted the people of Pakistan to understand that the Prime Minister came to power by fraud, but that he is also incompetent

" repeat the organizers of the rally.

The demonstration is notably led by Maryam Nawaz, the vice-president of the PML-N party.

She is the daughter of former Prime Minister

Nawaz Sharif

, convicted several times by Pakistani courts.

The organizers also denounce a campaign of intimidation by the authorities after the arrest of several members of the opposition.

Earlier this month,

the head of the PML-N

and brother of the former prime minister was arrested for money laundering.

These are false accusations according to the opposition.
