“A decision was made to stop accepting suspects, accused and convicted persons in pre-trial detention centers-1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia in Moscow.

This measure is being introduced from October 19 until further notice, ”TASS reports.

Reception of these persons during this period will be possible only in SIZO-7.

In addition, in all pre-trial detention centers in the city, short-term visits and transfers, except for drugs and medical supplies, are temporarily prohibited, and visits to isolation wards by representatives of executive authorities and public monitoring commissions are also limited.

Meetings of convicts and suspects with lawyers are allowed only in the premises of short-term meeting rooms through glass, provided that personal protective equipment is available.

In September, the Moscow Federal Penitentiary Service canceled the restrictions for POCs on visits to the pre-trial detention center, introduced in March in connection with the coronavirus epidemic.
