"The importance of further coordination of efforts of the international community with the leading role of the UN in order to sustainably advance the inter-Libyan negotiating process in the interests of the country's early withdrawal from the protracted systemic crisis was also noted," the press release said.

The UN Secretary General's special representative announced the preparation of a forum in Tunisia with the participation of representatives of all political forces in Libya. 

Lavrov reaffirmed Russia's interest in actively assisting in the settlement in Libya and the formation of unified authorities there. 

"It was emphasized that the key to the success of the gaining momentum of the Libyan settlement process is the participation in it of all influential" on the ground "political forces seeking to ensure the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the Libyan state," the Russian Foreign Ministry noted.

Earlier, Lavrov discussed the situation in Libya with Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu.
