According to Khamzaev, the ban on advertising of alcoholic beverages that has been in effect for several years has become an effective mechanism to reduce the consumption of these products.

However, indirect advertising of alcohol continues to be present on the streets in the form of signs of trade and public catering enterprises, which use the names of alcoholic beverages in their names.

“Every day in their cities a huge number of citizens, including minor children, see signs that, in fact, perform the function of outdoor advertising.

In this regard, I ask you to consider the expediency of restricting the right of public catering and trade enterprises to use the names of alcoholic beverages in the names of signboards of their establishments both in Russian and in foreign languages, ”the appeal says.

Earlier, Khamzayev also proposed a ban on advertising of non-alcoholic beer.

According to him, despite the anti-alcohol policy and the ban on advertising of alcoholic products in Russia, producers of non-alcoholic beer can still use advertising tools.
