The basis for the agreement is currently a letter of intent between Ockelbo municipality and Synsam.

There, the parties write what they think an agreement should look like.

- Our hope is that the agreement will be ready before the turn of the year, says Ann-Katrin Sundelius, mayor of Ockelbo.

As it looks now, Synsam will sign a lease agreement with the municipality that extends over 15 years.

For the first three years, Synsam will pay a lower rent in the form of an entry-level rent according to a staircase model.

In the first year, Synsam is expected to pay an annual rent of 1.2 million and from the fourth year, the annual rent is expected to be almost SEK 4.2 million.

Does the municipality not take a big risk in this?

- No, I do not think so.

I think this shows a belief in the future from the municipality and that you want something positive for Ockelbo and then you must dare to make a decision, says Ann-Katrin Sundelius.

What Ockelbo municipality finances for Synsam's establishment includes the demolition of the current property that stands on the land where Synsam's factory will be located.

It also includes necessary ground work, preparation of the site, construction of the property and operation of the property.

The latter will be regulated in the lease.

The municipality is also expected to perform service and repair of ventilation, heating, water and sewage as well as be responsible for and pay for and repair damage to the property that is not caused by the business.

According to the letter of intent between Ockelbo municipality and Synsam, the establishment presupposes that a building permit can be adopted by a competent body within Ockelbo municipality and that it gains legal force.
