"We strongly condemn the illegal visit of Vitaly Milonov, a member of the State Duma of the Russian Federation from the ruling United Russia party, to the occupied Nagorno-Karabakh region of the Republic of Azerbaijan," the statement said.
They stressed that such a step by the deputy "does not correspond to the official position of the Russian Federation" in support of the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.
"The name of Vitaly Milonov has been added to the list of foreign citizens who are prohibited from entering Azerbaijan for illegally visiting the occupied territories of the country in violation of the relevant legislation of the Republic of Azerbaijan," the department added.
As Sputnik Armenia wrote earlier, Milonov arrived in Nagorno-Karabakh.
