Trump's campaign believes that the email that was found in what is alleged to be Hunter Biden's old computer is proof that his father Joe Biden has "lied to the American people".

The New York Post reports that they have received information from the computer that Hunter Biden, according to them, has submitted to a repair shop.

It should contain information that Joe Biden was involved in his son's business.

But the former vice president and Democratic presidential candidate have repeatedly denied being involved.

According to the New York Post, e-mails in the computer reveal that the son Hunter Biden has introduced a Ukrainian businessman to his father.

But the Joe Biden campaign denies that he met the businessman, which makes Twitter and Facebook question the truthfulness of the information that appears in the newspaper.

There are also reports in the American media that the background may be a Russian disinformation campaign.

- This is part of our standard process to reduce the spread of incorrect information, says Facebook spokesperson Andy Stone.

Accused of helping Biden

Both Facebook and Twitter blocked the article, which could not be shared on the platforms.

It has now prompted Republicans in the Senate Judiciary Committee to act vigorously.

They want both Mark Zuckerberg, founder of Facebook, and Twitter boss Jack Dorsey to be summoned for questioning in the Senate, reports CNBC.

A vote on this will be held next week.

The New York Post accuses Facebook and Twitter of helping Biden win the election.

Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey commented on the incident on Wednesday.

"Our communication about how we have handled the New York Post's article was not good.

Blocking URL sharing via tweet or instant messaging without the context of why we did it: unacceptable ", he writes on Twitter.
