Yesterday, the first batch of released prisoners arrived at Seiyun airport in Hadramawt governorate, in accordance with the prisoner exchange process agreement between the Yemeni government and the Houthi militia, which includes 442 prisoners from both sides.

The head of the government team concerned with prisoners and detainees, Hadi Haig, said that the government forces released 221 Houthi prisoners in exchange for the militia's release of 221 of the kidnapped and their captives, noting that among the released prisoners 19 are from the Arab coalition, including 15 Saudis and four From the Sudanese.

Haig added that, today, 151 members of the Southern Resistance and West Coast forces will be released, in addition to the release of five of the kidnapped journalists.

On 27 September, the legitimate Yemeni government and the Houthi militias reached a partial agreement to implement the Stockholm Agreement on Prisoners and Detainees, after negotiations in Switzerland under the auspices of the United Nations, during which it was agreed to release 1081 prisoners and detainees held by both sides.

The International Committee of the Red Cross described the exchange of detainees as the largest in the history of the five-year-old Yemeni conflict, and witnesses from Reuters said that aircraft carrying prisoners took off from Sana'a and Seiyun airports.
