- We have sampled water from three wells in northern Trönninge to check whether this groundwater pollution in Kistinge industrial area had reached Trönninge or not, and gratifyingly we found no PFAS in one of the wells and in two of the others were the very low levels of barely detectable level, says Tomas Sjöstedt, environmental and health protection inspector in Halmstad municipality.

These low levels that were discovered, did they come from Kistinge?

- It is uncertain, it is not possible to draw conclusions from it, there may be other local sources of PFAS because these are substances used in many products.

The levels of the substance discovered in two of the wells should be well below the limit value and work well as drinking water.

- We cancel the recommendation and we no longer advise against drinking well water from Trönninge, however, we must point out that the surface water is polluted.

Kistingebäcken and Trönningeån advise against using the water from in any way, for example you should not consume fish from there, says Tomas Sjöstedt.
