A recent poll showed the Democratic candidate for the US presidential election, Joe Biden, ahead of Republican President Donald Trump by 11 points at the national level, and the two candidates hold public meetings on television instead of the second canceled debate.

A survey by The Wall Street Journal and NBC News revealed that 53% of registered voters support Biden, compared to 42% who support Trump.

The survey was conducted after Trump left the hospital, where he was receiving treatment for his infection with the Coronavirus.

And 62% of those polled expressed great fear that Trump might divide the United States, and 6 out of 10 voters saw that the United States is on the wrong track, and that it is worse off than it was 4 years ago.

On Wednesday, Trump tied statistically with Biden in Florida, one of the crucial states, with 47% support compared to 49% for Biden, with a credibility margin of 4 points in a poll conducted by Reuters and Ipsos.

In the context of election campaigning, Trump and his Democratic rival Biden are holding public meetings on television, at peak viewing times today, Thursday, instead of their second presidential debate, which was canceled after Trump's abstention from participating online.

Each of them will receive questions from the electorate during the two meetings that start at 8 pm (midnight GMT). The Trump meeting will be broadcast on NBC and the Biden meeting will be broadcast on the ABC network.

Trump withdrew from the debate when the organizing committee said it would be held online due to concerns about the Corona virus.

The third presidential debate is scheduled for October 22 in Nashville, Tennessee.

On the second of October, Trump announced that he had contracted the Corona virus, but he resumed election campaigning after being treated in a military hospital.

On Wednesday, NBC said - during the announcement of the meeting - that it had obtained a report on Trump's health from Clifford Lane, director of the National Institute of Health.

The elections will be held on the third of next November, and a record number of 15 million Americans have cast their votes so far through the possibility of early voting, according to the data of the American Election Project at the University of Florida, as voters seek to avoid standing in lines on Election Day due to the Corona pandemic.

On another topic, the Biden campaign team announced today, Thursday, that Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris will suspend her actions until next Sunday, after discovering a number of Covid-19 cases in her vicinity.

"Out of extreme caution and our campaign team's commitment to the highest levels of prevention, we are canceling all Senator Harris' scheduled trips until Sunday, October 18," Jane O'Malley Dillon, a White House Democratic nominee's campaign official, said in a statement.
