Last week, hours of waiting were reported before the person alerted received feedback and despite the fact that a week has passed, the error has not been rectified.

In total, close to 160 municipalities are affected, including Skellefteå.

- Now it takes up to ten minutes from the person alerting.

It is definitely not as it should be, but we hope and believe that the wrong things will be rectified before the weekend, says Peter Näsström, who believes that the home care service has been staffed extra due to the problems.

In total, there are around 2,000 people with security alarms in Skellefteå municipality.

Seriously looking at what happened

Response times are delayed and now the elderly are urged to contact relatives, the home care service or the municipality's customer service.

The company Tunstall, which SVT Västerbotten has applied for, but which could not be reached, is responsible for the alarm.

- We are in the hands of Tunstall.

The security alarms themselves work, but it is the calls back to the elderly that are delayed, explains Peter Nässtrom, who is operations manager for the home care service in Skellefteå municipality.

He takes what happened seriously but believes that the vast majority of older people receive continuous visits.

A press release has been issued stating that the elderly can call a special number, a number that when SVT Nyheter Västerbotten tests it several times does not work.

- If you are ill, you should of course call 112. The 019 number we went out with, we have to check, says Näsström.
