They recalled that in July the Netherlands filed a complaint against Russia on MH17 with the ECHR, which the Russian side regards as “another blow” to bilateral relations and “demonstration by The Hague of a firm intention” to continue “the vicious path of unilaterally blaming Russia for the disaster”.

“From the very first day, the Netherlands adhered to the only version of what happened and promoted it both in the framework of the technical investigation of the Dutch Security Council and the criminal investigation carried out by the Joint Investigation Team (JIT).

Naturally, both investigations turned out to be biased, superficial and politicized, ”the statement says.

As the diplomats specified, everything was done "just to support the hasty accusations against Russia."

The department recalled that Russia initially advocated a full and independent investigation in accordance with the provisions of UN Security Council Resolution 2166, and also more than once pointed out the shortcomings of the investigation.

“When we agreed in 2018 to hold trilateral consultations with Australia and the Netherlands on the entire range of issues related to the circumstances of the crash of flight MH17, we proceeded on the assumption that such consultations would help to establish, based on facts, the true causes of the plane crash,” added Foreign Ministry.

They noted that The Hague, without waiting for the interim results of the consultations, "chose a different path" by submitting a complaint to the ECHR.

“Such unfriendly actions of the Netherlands make it senseless to continue the trilateral consultations and our participation in them.

Thus, the responsibility for disrupting the trilateral consultations rests entirely with the official Hague, ”the diplomats stressed.

At the same time, it is noted that Russia intends to continue interactions with the competent authorities of the Netherlands, but will do this "already in other formats."

In July, the ECHR registered the Netherlands' claim against Russia in the MH17 case.

The Russian Ministry of Justice has said that Moscow has rejected accusations of involvement in the downing of MH17.

Boeing 777, flying MH17 from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur, crashed on July 17, 2014 in the Donetsk region of Ukraine.

Killed 283 passengers and 15 crew members.
