According to Merkel, Germany's economic development remains an important aspect.

Merkel clarified that from an economic point of view, Germany "cannot allow a repetition of what happened at the beginning of the year" with easy consequences.

“Therefore, we must do everything to keep the dynamics of the incidence rate,” the chancellor said.
