Jean Castex affirmed Thursday his "total" confidence in the Minister of Health, Olivier Véran, whose home and offices were searched this Thursday morning as part of a judicial information on the management of the crisis of the coronavirus.

"You will understand that it is absolutely not for me to comment on the decisions of a judicial authority", added the Prime Minister, questioned during a press conference organized to detail the modalities of the curfew which comes into force Friday at midnight in Ile-de-France and in eight metropolises, as Emmanuel Macron announced yesterday.

And the Prime Minister recalled that the Minister of Health “benefits from a total presumption of innocence”.

A little earlier, Jean Castex had addressed a strong tribute to Olivier Véran.

Jean Castex, accompanied by the ministers of Health, Interior, Economy, and Labor explained in detail the new measures announced by Emmanuel Macron on Wednesday, during a press conference.

These are valid for four weeks, but the government intends to ask parliament to extend them until the end of November.
