Dubai Municipality reported that it violated 137 institutions that did not adhere to measures to confront the emerging corona virus, and 820 other institutions were warned, while six institutions were closed, during the first two weeks of this month.

Municipal statistics indicated that the compliance rate increased to between 95 and 98%, due to the large number of supervisory inspection visits carried out by municipality inspectors daily.

According to the "Dubai Municipality", its inspectors have carried out 29,636 inspection visits during only 14 days since the beginning of this month. These included establishments that supervise their activities, including food establishments, cafes, fitness centers, beauty centers, salons, laundries, and other activities. .

She pointed out that the high level of compliance with most of the institutions reflected positively on the number of violations and daily closures, which reached in some days to zero.

The municipality stressed the need for all institutions to adhere to the precautionary measures and measures it imposed to limit the spread of Coronavirus infection.

The municipality had imposed requirements and controls on all establishments that carry out their activities in the Emirate of Dubai, which are under its supervision, and included the application and regulation of safe distances for physical distancing to be two meters between people, measuring temperatures for workers periodically during the day, and for customers, visitors and guests before entering, and directing workers in the event that any Symptoms of respiratory infection, refer to the nearest health center for examination and treatment, not to conduct work, and not to allow customers who suffer symptoms of respiratory infection to enter.

She indicated that these procedures are in effect in all institutions until further notice, and they are being followed up to ensure compliance with them, and the violation of non-compliance institutions in accordance with the controls in force.

The municipality confirmed that it is constantly intensifying its campaigns and inspection visits, especially with the increasing number of new infections with the Coronavirus, according to the statistics of the Ministry of Health and Community Protection, to ensure the highest levels of commitment and safety in all institutions operating in the Emirate of Dubai.

And she stressed that it does not tolerate violations related to the prevention and safety measures specified by it, as there is no room for endangering the safety and security of community members, and warned against bypassing them, as the procedures range between violation and closure.

Dubai Economy violates 6 commercial establishments

The field inspection teams of the commercial supervision and consumer protection sector in the Dubai economy carried out a series of monitoring visits and tours, including many open markets and commercial centers, in order to ensure that commercial establishments adhered to precautionary measures to limit the spread of the "Covid-19" pandemic.

The Dubai Economy announced that six commercial establishments were violated during the visits, which varied to include a ready-made garment trade facility, three money exchange stores, in addition to two violations in coordination with the Dubai Sports Council for two establishments due to organizing sporting events without obtaining the Council’s approval.

In addition, three of the facilities were violated due to non-wearing of masks by their workers, two violations due to failure to take the necessary measures to take into account the physical distance, and one for violating any of the decisions or instructions issued by the concerned authorities.

The sites of violating facilities included Al Quoz, Al Sabkha and Al Daghaya.

In addition, field inspection teams alerted three other facilities, due to the lack of physical distancing posters.
