  • Coronavirus.Illa commits to Madrid not to request an extension of the state of alarm

The wave of Covid in Madrid further tightens the already bitter confrontation between the Government and the opposition.

The state of alarm decreed over the capital and eight neighboring municipalities is not only a reason for the clash between Moncloa and Sol, it is already a matter of battle at the national level.

This is how they have wanted it both from the Executive and from the Popular Party.

The PP has requested this morning in Congress the resignation of the Minister of Health, Salvador Illa, whom it has accused of being "an activist", "the battering ram of the government's madrileñophobia" and "a puppet of Sánchez in Catalonia."

And it is that in the

popular

ranks they

are convinced that Illa will finally be the socialist candidate in the next Catalan elections.

The request for resignation has come through the mouth of the deputy José Ignacio Echániz who has not hesitated to ensure that the Government of Sánchez "hates Madrid and hates Spain" and therefore has applied "a 155 sanitary" on the community chaired by Isabel Díaz Ayuso.

The popular deputy has emphasized the attempt to "attack the rights and freedoms of Madrid" that the Executive tried to perpetrate by imposing a perimeter closure of a good part of the community's territory and which was overthrown by the Justice.

"Madrid appealed and Madrid won," he said before noting that "only the arrogance and injured ego of Sánchez led him to impose the state of alarm."

Echániz, in front of an Illa who has claimed to have always acted in accordance with the WHO recommendations and scientific criteria, has assured that the Madrid intervention plan had been prepared since August and has flatly rejected that the Executive cares about the Madrilenians.

"Did you care about Madrid when they alerted you from the National Security of the situation of the pandemic and you ignored it? When you hid the numbers of deceased and infected? Did the Madrilenians care more than the Navarrese? Or perhaps you have in Navarra a government agreed with Bildu? Did they care when the figures have changed from 1000 to 500, then to 200 and now to 100? Are you prevaricating? ", Echániz has blurted out.

And before this cataract, the Minister of Health has insisted that he does not have a pulse with Madrid but with Covid 19. "The problem of Madrid is not the legal instrument that the Government had to adopt to cover a decision by majority of the Interterritorial Health Council, the problem in Madrid is the data, it is the epidemiological situation ".

Illa has urged the PP deputy, "if he feels esteem for Spain", to "not provoke divisions among those who", he has said, "we are also Spanish being Catalans. Do not fan ghosts, do not sow weeds."

And it has urged him to dedicate his efforts and his vehemence to the fight against the pandemic.
