A common thread in Jan Emanuel Johansson's and Hanif Bali's proposal is about greatly increased camera surveillance.

Among other things, they propose that cameras be mounted on security cars, bicycles and drones.

But according to the Swedish Data Inspectorate, which issues permits for camera surveillance, there are more problems with the proposals.

- It would require changes in various confidentiality legislation, says Jeanette Bladh Gustafson who is a lawyer at the Swedish Data Inspectorate.

"Does not help against impulse-controlled crimes"

Jeantte Bladh Gustafson also believes that camera surveillance alone has not always proved to be the most effective in law enforcement.

- Camera surveillance can be good when it comes to drug crime.

On the other hand, it has not shown that it helps against impulse-controlled crimes, which is often what you think you want to access, she says.
