A young 11-year-old, a college student in 6th grade, was assaulted on his way home from school on Tuesday, avenue du Docteur Alfred Corlay in Saint-Herblain.
Police said the assailant, only 12, came in from behind and pulled a knife from his right pocket.
He would have threatened the schoolboy by pinning him against a tree the better to search him.
The attacker was arrested
The attacker left with nothing, the victim having neither money nor cell phone.
The latter filed a complaint with the Saint-Herblain police station for extortion under the threat of a knife.
The alleged perpetrator was arrested and taken into police custody.
