The Director General of Dubai Municipality, Eng. Dawood Al Hajri, Director General of the Dubai Community Development Authority, Ahmed Abdul Karim Julfar, handed over the certificate of completion of community councils in both Al Khawaneej First and Umm Suqeim 1.

The Executive Council of the Emirate of Dubai held a meeting, last week, chaired by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, at the Al Khawaneej Council, stressing the importance of community councils in providing services and proposing initiatives that would support the continuous development movement that puts community service. It is at the forefront of its priorities, and consolidating the special position of the councils in the cultural and social heritage of the UAE, as it has always been a place for community members and officials to meet to discuss topics related to their daily lives and achieve comfort and happiness for them, which is the main goal of government work.

Al-Hajri said that the community councils would create a stimulating environment for people to involve them in government initiatives and services decided by the Executive Office, as well as their role in strengthening social relations and enhancing cohesion among community members, and this will be reflected positively on the quality of life.

He emphasized the design of the councils in the modern architectural style, as the building area of ​​each council is 1525 square meters, with a capacity of 415 people.

The building consists of the lobby and the main council, and accommodates 330 people, and a youth council for 40 people, with a public library, administrative offices and other logistical services.

For his part, Julphar expressed his happiness with the opening of the Al Khawaneej Majlis, which is an important addition to the community councils group, and serves a vital area in Dubai, praising the efforts of the municipality.

He added that "this step comes in line with the leadership's vision to reach citizens in their areas and facilitate their access to social services," expressing his hope that it will meet the aspirations of the people of the region, and contribute to their better and easy access to government services in general, especially services. Social, where “the councils represent the effective tool in dealing with societal ideas, because of the useful and valuable potential they contain, which are rooted in the depth of society and are appropriate to the nature of its children, and consistent with their original values”.
