The president of the United States, Donald Trump, has tested negative for COVID-19 and is not contagious, his White House doctor,

Sean Conley

, reported on Monday

.

In a memorandum released by the White House shortly before Trump participated in a rally in Sanford, central Florida, Conley noted that the president

"has given NEGATIVE, on consecutive days."

Conley said that this test

"was not used in isolation

to determine the current negative status of the president."

The doctor explained that additional clinical and laboratory data were also taken into account,

including viral load

, subgenomic RNA and threshold measurements of the PCR cycle, as well as the ongoing evaluation of viral culture data, which, he said, "they indicate a lack of detectable viral replication."

The specialist added that

the "president is not infectious to others",

citing the "complete data" of Trump's evaluation and in accordance with the guidelines of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC, in English).

Last August, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued an emergency use authorization to Abbott Diagnostics Scarboroug for its BinaxNOW COVID-19 Ag card.

The medical report was released when Trump called

a Florida rally,

a week after he left the Walter Reed military hospital and after a first public act with supporters held on Saturday on a White House balcony after contracting the disease.

"See you in Sanford, Florida, tonight for a big rally,"

the president wrote this morning on his Twitter account.

Trump told Fox on Sunday that he is "immune" to the coronavirus, more than a week after testing positive for COVID-19, noting that he is

"in very good shape

to fight the battles."

After the Florida rally, the president is planning other campaign events this week in the states of Pennsylvania and Iowa, with which he intends to gain ground, according to what the latest polls reflect that give

an advantage to his Democratic rival

, the former

Vice

President

Joe Biden.
