The Ministerial Council for Development, headed by His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, discussed the issuance of the executive regulations for the Federal Law on Antiquities, submitted by the Ministry of Culture and Youth, as part of the agenda of its meeting yesterday. For the purpose of enhancing the national identity, preserving the cultural heritage, and uncovering and excavating antiquities, with the aim of reviving and enriching the country's national heritage.

The Council emphasized the importance of preserving national antiquities, enriching cultural heritage, and its important role in enhancing national identity and historical belonging, and consolidating meanings of patriotism and pride in the homeland.

The executive regulations of the law included provisions related to guarantees of antiquities protection in times of crises and disasters, the regulation of protection of local and foreign antiquities, and the conditions for antiquities trade that the competent authority declares, in accordance with its legislation in force, that there is no need to register them in writing, and it also mentioned the obligations of the departments of city planning and surveying, municipalities and other relevant bodies When designing, planning and implementing planning projects, to preserve the archaeological sites, including the creation of a campus not built around the archaeological site.

In addition to the obligations of the excavation missions for antiquities and the entities authorized to excavate, and the role of the Ministry and the competent authorities in the field of qualifying and training national cadres in the field of archeology and preservation.

On the other hand, the Council discussed, during its session, the development of several new mechanisms to support and encourage tourism, attract tourists to the UAE, and strengthen the country's position as a pioneering tourism and investment destination at the regional and global levels, considering tourism is one of the pillars of the state's policy in economic diversification, and the pursuit of competition In the global tourism sector, which is characterized by openness and flexibility, and support for companies in the tourism sector in the country, the amendment of some provisions of the executive regulations of the Federal Law regarding entry and residence of foreigners was discussed, which included the controls for issuing some visas and amending some provisions of the other regulations.

The Council also reviewed the proposed mechanisms for adjudicating grievances and appeals at the United Arab Emirates Bank, and the proposal to form a committee for adjudicating grievances and appeals from the decisions issued by the Central Bank related to licensing and authorizing individuals, and licensing and defining financial infrastructure systems.
