"We fear that many more women may have been affected," prosecutor Susanna Petersson told Corren.
The man was arrested on Thursday after being arrested in his absence and he was arrested on Sunday.
He is suspected of having created fake profiles on Facebook and Instagram where he has presented himself as a gang criminal with large violent capital.
Under threat, he is then said to have forced himself into sex.
He is also said to have forced the women to send nude photos and videos of themselves and also pressured them for money.
Affected women are asked to contact them
An extensive investigation is underway.
- When we have talked to the plaintiffs, they have said that they know other women who have also encountered this man.
It may be that there are women who have not dared to turn to the police considering how this man has presented himself, Petersson says to Corren.
Police are now urging affected women to get in touch.
The rapes the man was arrested for must have been committed between September 2019 and September this year.
