The Peace Girl Statue was erected in Mite-gu, Berlin, Germany to report the damage of Japanese military comfort women.

Five days after the Japanese government ordered the demolition of the city of Berlin, the legal response began in earnest.

The Korea Council, a local Korean-related civic group that supervised the establishment of the girl statue, announced that it would apply for a temporary injunction to suspend the execution of the demolition order to the Berlin Administrative Court.

Earlier, Mitte-gu, Berlin, announced that "If the Statue of Peace is not demolished by the 14th, it will be enforced."

It was a problem that the inscription was not announced in advance that "the Japanese military took women in Asia and the Pacific as sex slaves during World War II". We are responding.

If the application for provisional injunction is accepted, it is expected that the girl's statue will remain in place until a final judgment is reached by the court.

The petition campaign against the demolition also began in earnest in Germany, and more than 2,000 signatures were secured.

Local citizens and Koreans decided to hold a rally at noon tomorrow (the 13th) asking for the withdrawal of the demolition order around the statue.
