The South Korean Sei-young Kim, untouchable on Sunday, won the first Grand Slam of her career at 27, by winning the LPGA Championship, after the 4th round played in Newtown Square (Pennsylvania).

In the lead since Friday, the 7th in the world has not given in to the pressure at all, even increasing its lead to finish with a total of -14, five strokes better than its runner-up and compatriot Park Inbee.

Her day was perfect as she made no mistakes, making seven birdies, to make the best Sunday card (63), equaling the record held by Americans Patty Sheehan (1984), Meg Mallon (1999) and Kelly Shon (2017).

"This title means so much to me. I am very moved, this is my first major, I have surpassed myself to win it," said Kim, whose 11th title on the circuit.

"The course is very demanding everywhere here, I sometimes had my arms and legs shaking, but I managed to stay focused until the end," she added.

Behind her and Inbee, the Japanese Nasa Hakatoa and the Spanish Carlota Ciganda share third place (-7).
