The Council of Ministers considered the report of the Governor of Kongo Central.

According to this report, the insufficient number of police personnel and elements as well as the lack of adequate supervision of recruits in military training at the center of Kitona are at the root of this situation of insecurity which is particularly prevalent. in the coastal town of Moanda.

Most of the victims are women, civil society officials note.

For activist Gelson Sisi Vimbi, several clues found at the scene of the crimes implicate the military.

On two recent occasions, the head covering of a man in uniform was found near the lifeless body of a woman.

Civil society has repeatedly called on the military authorities to prohibit the military from prowling around the fields where women work.

In August alone, more than ten cases of burglary and armed robbery were also denounced by the same civil society.

Last year, residents demanded the resignation of the administrator of the territory after the assassination of Ghétou, a baker.

The security situation has been worrying in Moanda for many years.

In 2015, a wave of assassinations was recorded in the city.
