A Libyan official revealed that Cairo will host - on Sunday - two delegations from the Supreme Council of the State and the House of Representatives in Tobruk, to discuss the constitutional path to solve the Libyan crisis.

Anadolu Agency quoted a member of the Supreme Council of State as saying that the council formed a committee to discuss the constitutional path sponsored by the United Nations Support Mission in Libya, which will be hosted by the Egyptian capital on Sunday.

He explained that the committee consists of 10 people, including 3 members of the constituent body for drafting the Libyan constitution, as advisors.

In the context, a member of the Supreme Council of State, Nasser Matroud, said that the members of the dialogue committee of the council were divided into 3 tracks: the executive track in Geneva, the sovereign positions in Morocco, and the constitutional track in Egypt.

Matroud stated - in statements carried by the "Libya Al-Ahrar" channel - that the UN mission will work at the end to gather the participants in the dialogues of all tracks in one session, to make a final formulation of what has been reached.

In recent days, there has been a tangible political movement regarding the Libyan crisis, and the parties signed the draft criteria for selecting the sovereign positions after dialogues that took place in Morocco.

Germany and the United Nations also sponsored the "Berlin 2" talks, which called for the launch of a comprehensive political process to resolve the crisis.

European statement

In a related context, a statement by the European Union mission emphasized that there is no alternative to resolving the Libyan crisis politically, leading the country towards parliamentary and presidential elections.

The statement came after a meeting of European Union ambassadors held yesterday, Saturday, with the Head of the Accord Government, Fayez al-Sarraj, and his Foreign Minister in Tripoli.

The statement stressed "the importance of full participation in all tracks of the UN-led Berlin process to reach a lasting and sustainable ceasefire agreement, restore the state's monopoly on the legitimate use of force throughout the country, reunify financial institutions, and fully lift the oil blockade across Libya," And the resumption of political dialogue. "

It is noteworthy that two delegations from the Supreme Council of State and the Tobruk Parliament held talks in Malta two days ago.

Yesterday, Saturday, the "Times of Malta" newspaper wrote that "a group of Libyan politicians who are meeting in Malta are close to a solution after the peace talks here."

In a statement to the newspaper, a member of the Supreme Council of State, Abdulaziz Taher Khriba, explained that they met in Malta because it is neutral, stressing that there is nothing better than meeting the Libyans in order to find a solution to their problems.
