  According to reports, at the time of the incident, the bus was carrying 65 passengers who wanted to go to a Buddhist temple to attend a ceremony.

At that time, the bus was hit by a train when it was crossing the Chacheongsao railway track 80 kilometers east of Bangkok in the rain.

  Local official Prathueng Yookassem said at least 17 people were killed in the accident and 30 others were injured.

He said: "It was raining. Maybe the driver (so) didn't see the train."

  At present, all the injured have been taken to two hospitals.

The police said that they have launched an investigation into the accident.
