Beaten Sunday at Roland Garros for her second Grand Slam final of the year - and of her career -, Sofia Kenin stressed having despite everything achieved a very good 2020 season with a first major title in Australia, and regrets no longer have tournaments to play on.

QUESTION: You lose in the final, but you still won your first Grand Slam tournament in Australia, so what do you think of your 2020 season?

ANSWER: "Right now, I'm a little disappointed. But she (Iga Swiatek) played really well today (in the final) and in general lately she has played some really good games. And I don't. don't want to make excuses for me, but my leg was not doing the best. As for the year, there was obviously a lot of positives. My agent told me I had 15 wins for two losses ( in Major 3), I find it not bad. I played really good tennis in Grand Slams. I find that I play very good tennis. So it's a shame that the season is over (all WTA tournaments end years were canceled except for Ostrava but Kenin will not participate, editor's note). I wish there were more tournaments. I will use this time to rest my leg, then start my preseason. "

Q: Did you have any concerns about your leg starting the final?

A: "This has been going on for several games. I had to put on patches. I did everything I could. Today after the first set it got so steep that I couldn't move anymore. . I called the doctor, but it kept getting worse. It's a shame that it happened during this game. The first two laps, everything was fine. And in the 3rd or 4th round I had to apply patches. I know what it is, it's happened to me before. It's not a big deal. I could expect it to hurt a bit given the circumstances: I played a lot of games, a lot in three sets. Besides, the game on gravel is very physical, you have to move and slide a lot. So I know why it hurts and I don't worry too much about it. "

Q: A lot of young players are reaching the top level, do you feel threatened?

A: "It makes us more opponents, we the top ranked players. So sometimes we don't like it. We don't want to be passed by the youngsters. But in fact, I'm only 21 years old. . I am a young person myself. I am in this rising generation. "
