In the spring, the municipality discovered that there were only 141 million instead of the 347 million that the construction of the anniversary park costs and where the anniversary pool is included.
- Now an investment budget has been added to build a swimming pool as well, which means that we get the money we need to also supplement the anniversary park with the anniversary pool, says AnnaSara Perslow (C), chair of the park and nature committee.
She continues:
- We count it as an investment cost for the city.
We believe that by investing in this land that lies between Hisingen and the city center, we can increase activity at Frihamnen and more quickly get housing, offices and thus get started with the big project, says AnnaSara Perslow.
The bath is delayed
When the city of Gothenburg was planning the city's 400th anniversary, they asked the residents how they wanted to celebrate.
One of the wishes was to be able to swim in central Gothenburg.
The bath will be a central part of the planned Jubilee Park.
The goal is to be able to open the anniversary pool in the spring of 2022, which means a certain delay as the plan was to open already in June next year.
