In Ukraine, the National Security Council said yesterday that the country had recorded 5,804 new cases of "Covid-19" in the past 24 hours, up from the previous record of 5,397 injuries yesterday.

The daily toll in Ukraine jumped to a record high for the third day in a row, bringing the total number of Coronavirus cases to 250,538 and 4,779 deaths, including 89 cases during the past 24 hours.

The spike in new infections prompted the government to extend lockdown measures until the end of October.

Yesterday, the Slovak government stated that it had called in the army to help deal with the high incidence of Coronavirus, after the health authorities had reached their maximum capacity in dealing with the virus and became in need of support.

France declared a state of heightened alert in six cities due to the spread of "Corona".

French Health Minister Olivier Ferrand said that four other French cities have shifted to the highest levels of preparedness to confront the Corona virus, after Paris and Marseille had already taken this step.
