The first to open hostilities is the MEP François-Xavier Bellamy: "

I am quite distressed to see that our political family has been engaged for a few weeks in a kind of trench warfare through small confidential, small off, small we, as if we needed our journalist friends, whom we thank for being present, to talk to each other.

 "

François-Xavier Bellamy is immediately followed by the leader of LR senators, the ambitious Bruno Retailleau: “

We must not give in to personal attacks.

And that is intolerable, and that is unacceptable.

Thank you François-Xavier for calling him back this morning.

Thank you.

(Applause).

In his viewfinder: elected officials annoyed by his presidential ambitions displayed including the young number 3 of the party Aurélien Pradié.

“

We are at a time when the French are suffering terribly.

This is not the time to explain that we are a presidential candidate, that we dream of being one, that we need a primary or not, let's be serene

”, comments- he does.

As justice of the peace, Gérard Larcher, the head of the Senate, closes the debates: “

Let us avoid formulas, hurtful words.

I don't teach anyone a lesson.

I just want us to meet up and respond to the French request.

"

To reduce tensions, Gérard Larcher undertakes to quickly prepare a tie-breaker project.

The objective is to nominate the candidate for the right in 2022 and avoid yet another fratricidal war.
