Nobel jubilation at small Malmö publishing house: "We are as happy as surprised"

"They talk about the arrival of spring after the cold nights of winter, about despair and anger, about the joy of growing again and experiencing a brief moment of flowering before the earth calls them back into the darkness."

This is how Malmöförlaget Rámus writes about the 2020 Nobel laureate, the American poet Louise Glück's book, "Wild iris".

The collection of poems has been translated into Swedish by the author Jonas Brun.

Publishes world literature

Since 2002, Rámus has published translated literature in both prose and poetry by authors from around 30 countries, mainly in Europe.

In addition to 2020, Louise Glück's authors include Rosmarie Waldrop, Petra Hulova, Eirikur Örn Norddahl, Péter Nádas, Jacques Roubaud, Anja Utler, Terry Eagleton, Kristin Berget, Charles Reznikoff and Kristien Hemmerechts.

Mats Malm, Permanent Secretary at the Swedish Academy, announced on Thursday that this year's Nobel Prize in Literature went to the poet Louise Glück.
