The State of Qatar today received a frigate named "Doha", which is one of two ships manufactured by a Turkish company under the supervision of the Turkish Ministry of Defense and the Presidency of Defense Industries, and the frigate is one of the largest military training ships in the world.

The ship’s handover ceremony took place at the ships harbor in "Tuzla" (a suburb of Istanbul), in the presence of Qatar's Minister of State for Defense Affairs Khalid bin Muhammad Al-Attiyah and Turkish Defense Minister Hulusi Akar.

The agreement was to manufacture a ship designed for training purposes, to participate in search and rescue operations, and to conduct maritime patrols;

It was concluded at the Naval Defense Industries Exhibition, which was organized in the Qatari capital in March 2018. This relates to 3 agreements signed by the Qatari Naval Forces with the Turkish Anadolu Shipbuilding Company to supply 4 military training ships.
