Despite the evidence presented to him by the police, he denies the facts.

A 28-year-old man was arrested Tuesday in Vénissieux as part of an investigation for theft and willful damage by fire after an apartment fire in the 7th arrondissement of Lyon.

Last Sunday, the man, homeless, is suspected of having gone to his ex, rue d'Anvers, and of having stolen 2,000 euros, following a breakup, learned

 from of Rhône security.

He then allegedly set fire to his home before fleeing.

A neighbor of the victim told investigators he saw the suspect enter the building shortly before the fire.

A testimony confirmed by the operation of the telephone line of the young man, present on the scene Sunday, at the time of the facts, adds the police.

Placed in police custody and interviewed, he however denied being the author of the theft and arson.

The suspect must be presented this Thursday to the Lyon prosecutor's office.
