When the municipal leadership had a press conference the day after the result of the referendum was determined, the Social Democrats wanted to wait and tell how they intended to vote for the Ripfjäll establishment.

The moderates announced at the same press conference that there was disagreement in the party on the issue, but that it had previously been announced that they would follow the election results.

- That is why we will vote no, said Opposition Councilor Mikael Östling (M) at the press conference.

The Left Party has also announced that their members have planned to say no, as have the Sweden Democrats and the Rural Independence Party.

The Center Party's Pär Kindlund and the Liberals' Thomas Ericsson - parties that sit in the ruling majority in the municipality - have previously said that they will both vote yes to the wind power establishment but that they will not control how the party comrades in the respective parties vote.

Party meeting on the issue

The Social Democrats had a meeting on Monday on the issue and how the party views the result of the vote.

Just over 5,000 people of the municipality's approximately 8,000 eligible voters went to the polls at the end of September and where the no side won with 52.5 percent of the vote.

S will vote yes

On Wednesday evening, however, municipal councilor Hans Unander (S) released the magazine from his mouth.

The party and its members intend to vote in favor of the establishment of the 30 wind turbines.

The party's vote has been decisive for the establishment and makes it possible for the German wind power company WpD to build 250 meter high wind turbines on the municipality's land.

Will be taken up in the council in a few months

However, the matter must go through several municipal bodies before the council can take a position on the establishment.

The issue will probably be raised at the council meeting at the end of December this year.

It is only then that the product or non-product of wind power establishment is decided.

The referendum is only advisory, which means that members of the City Council do not have to take the result into account.
