07 October 2020Patrick Zaki will remain in prison for another 45 days.

This was reported by his lawyer Hoda Nasrallah after today's hearing in Cairo.

A "court of assizes gathered at the Faculty for non-commissioned officers in Tora" has "renewed the prison for the 45-day student Patrick Zaki", specified the lawyer referring to a structure annexed to the prison complex where the young man is being held.

According to the Facebook group 'Free Patrick', Zaki's family had spread a letter a few days ago to ask for the student's release: "Eight months of pain and suffering have gone by without any indication of when Patrick will return home or a clear reason why he was taken away from us. We remember well the day we went to pick him up at the airport, all the confusion, fear and anxiety, those feelings never left us. "

Mayor of Bologna: months without respect for rights

"Still in prison, months without a hearing on the merits, months without respect for human and civil rights. Let's increase the democratic pressure, let's not resign ourselves. The government asks for respect for human rights, as a condition of bilateral relations with Egypt".

So Virginio Merola, mayor of Bologna, after the news of the renewal of 45 days of detention for the student of the Alma Mater.
