Jordan imposes a comprehensive curfew for 48 hours

The Director of Corona Crisis Cell Operations and Deputy Head of the National Center for Security and Crisis Management in Jordan, Brigadier General Mazen Al-Faraya, announced the imposition of a comprehensive curfew for a period of 48 hours in all regions of the Kingdom of Jordan, starting from midnight on the next Thursday / Friday, until it ends at midnight Saturday / Sunday.

Al-Faraya said, during a press briefing held today, Tuesday, in the Jordanian Prime Ministry, that during the hours of the comprehensive curfew, none of the citizens will be allowed to leave, including the electronic permit campaign, with the exception of the epidemiological investigation teams, medical and nursing personnel, and a limited number of those in charge of maintaining the work of institutions For vital sectors.

He noted that people traveling or returning from travel will be allowed to pass during the days of the comprehensive curfew, as soon as they show tickets for the security closure points.

Al-Faraya added that it was also decided to repeat the application of the comprehensive curfew decision by the same mechanism during the coming weeks and for further notice, during the Corona Crisis Cell meeting that I held today under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister and the presence of all parties represented in the crisis cell, in light of the developments of the epidemiological situation in Jordan and the increasing number of HIV infections. He stressed that, with the exception of the days during which the curfew is imposed, partial curfews continue to apply daily, starting from 12 at night for facilities and after 1 am for citizens until 6 am, stressing that no citizens are allowed to leave except for those authorized to do so.

Al-Faraya also announced that, as of tomorrow morning, Wednesday, cadres of the Jordanian Armed Forces - the Arab Army will be deployed in all governorates of the Kingdom, in order to ensure the implementation of the comprehensive curfew and to enhance the efforts of the Public Security Directorate cadres.

Al-Faraya stressed that the Crisis Cell will continue to monitor the areas in which cases are increasing according to the geographic tracking system at the National Center for Security and Crisis Management, and a comprehensive ban will be implemented for a week or two, according to the mechanism currently in place.

He said that the inspection and monitoring campaigns of public security cadres on the facilities will continue during the coming period, which led to the release of about 450 violations against non-compliant establishments.
